Monster Cards - Monster Cards
1. Name of the card
The names of the cards are displayed here. If a card's name is repeated in the effect's text, it is mentioned in quotation marks ("name") such as Dark Magic Curtain and Dark Magician . If the name of a card is the same as the name of another card, it is considered the same card and the limit of three copies per deck is applied.
2. Level - Level ( Lvl )
The number of stars displayed here represents the Level of the monster. Normally, the higher the level, the stronger the monster. For Xyz Monsters , these stars are displayed from the left side and are called " Rank " instead.
3. Attribute - Attribute
In general, attributes don't matter much in many cases, but some card effects may restrict you to a specific attribute or may only allow you to use certain attributes for use. effect .
4. Type - Type of card
Similar to Attribute, Card Type is an element given to monsters. Some effects require certain Card Types to activate the effect. If a monster has any abilities, it will also be displayed next to the location like here: (Ex. Effect).
5. Serial number of the card
This number pertains only to the physical cards but is used for identification and classification purposes. ( usually in Master Duel there will be no ).
6. Stats: Attack - ATK & Defense - DEF
These numbers represent both the monster's ATK and DEF scores. These numbers are used in combat or while using certain effects. In general, the higher the index, the better!
7. Describe the information of the card
All card effects are written in this box, how to use them and when you can use them. Effects for (most) cards are written in a language called Problem-Solving Card Text or PSCT (Problem-Solving Card Text). The wording of the effects is very deliberate and there will be no double meaning to them - essentially, the cards do what they say they do. The effects will be detailed in section Read the effects . In general, monster effects cannot be used while monsters are face-down on the field. Normal monsters have no effects but instead have custom text that does not affect the game.

Spell & Trap Card - Spell & Trap Card
1. Name of the card
Similar to monster cards, the name will be displayed here. Remember that cards with the same name are considered the same card and are limited to a total of three copies, such as Umi and Lemuria, the Forgotten City !
2. Type - Type of card
Not to be confused with Monster Types , the Card Type displayed - along with the color of the card - differentiates between Spell or Trap Cards. Spell Cards will have a Magic Icon and Trap Cards will have a Trap Icon.
3. Symbols
The icon displayed next to the word [Spell/Trap Card] will identify the type of special Magic or Trap (if any). These symbols will be covered in more detail in the Spells/Traps section .
4. Describe the information of the card
Similar to Effect Monsters, Magic & Traps both have effects. Remember to read the information of the card carefully to know how to use that card !
5. Serial number of the card
Again, this is for organizing and collecting purposes and is not available in the game .
